About CAPS

Listen to the experts – the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers.

Today, access to the very best knowledge is critical to success. If you’re a corporation, organization, or association searching for competitive edge, look no further.

CAPS members are experts who speak. They provide in-depth information and highly targeted content to specific needs, delivered in a compelling manner.

These are the premier speakers in Canada: keynote speakers, facilitators, coaches, and trainers. Many are internationally renowned, and have been certified by the National Speakers Association (NSA), as Certified Speaking Professionals (CSP), the world’s largest and most respected association of professional speakers.

From inspirational to highly practical to business and leadership – count on CAPS to provide the highest value – the edge you need to succeed and the depth of knowledge to give you a winning advantage in business or a whole new “take” on life.

CAPS is a National Association
We have 10 Chapters across Canada that hold regular meetings where guest speakers from around the world often showcase their expertise. It’s a great place to “audition” a candidate for an upcoming event, or learn more about the business itself. Guests are always welcome.

Our premier educational and networking event is through the CAPS annual convention. It’s being held in Winnipeg, Manitoba, December 2 -4, 2012.

CAPS is About the Business of Speaking
We help our members hone their skills at securing more business and in delivering their expertise.  We do this through education, focused programming, and networking at both the Chapter and National levels, which has been designed by members for members.

The association is presided over by a board of directors, consisting of at least nine members who fulfill a two year term. They are all actively working in the speaking profession, represent chapters across Canada, and are elected by their peers.

Members abide by our Code of Professional Ethics. Along with our international affiliate association and through the Global Speakers Federation GSF), we also offer members the opportunity to earn the highest designation available in the speaking industry, the “Certified Speaking Professional.“
